Summer Wedding at The Jewell House | Kaylei and Caleb

When Kaylei’s mom Alicia told me about her daughter’s wedding at The Jewell House, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Oh my goodness, let me tell you. Everything, I mean everything about it was amazing!!!  The old home, barn, “Barbershop”, Nave, Talley-Ho… I will explain it all as you scroll, there is so much to tell you.

Oh, and I do have to say this is the most photos I have ever included in a blog post! Alicia is my friend (and the best darn realtor in Georgia), I have fallen in love with Kaylei, and I think if I had a daughter she would be a lot like her… and I just LOVE these photos!

Kaylei and Caleb are the sweetest couple, and it is so obvious how much they love each other. I had the pleasure of taking their engagement photos at Woodlawn Plantation, and I knew this day would be so very special for everyone. Kaylei looked like an angel in her gown from Ivory and Beau, and every time the light hit the back of her I had to take more photos. The gown fit her in every way- she is an old soul in a young woman’s body, and this gown was perfect for her. I bet there was no question in their minds when she tried it on in the shop that day. Caleb was so handsome in his suit with vest and tie, and his eyes were so bright and filled with love every time they landed upon his bride.  There is truly nothing more beautiful than a person in love.

OK, here we go! There was the gorgeous old home with a large front porch, surrounded by trees that glowed in the sunset. This was my favorite spot for portraits even though the whole property was covered in beautiful old trees.

One of my personal favorite parts of the day was the colorful flowers! Rags & Riches Flowers and Gifts created the fabulous bouquet, and The Beauties of Tanglewood Forest provided the rest! Holy cow were they stunning. They brought me back to my wedding day so many years ago, where I also requested a bouquet with every color of the rainbow. Kaylei and I are a lot alike. I love that girl.

This super cool watch was Kaylei’s gift to Caleb. Caleb works for the Forestry Service, and I’d say this was an absolutely perfect gift.

The guys had their own little cabin called the “Barbershop” where they could chill and get ready away from the girls. How cute is this place?

The bridal suite inside the home had several large windows and was so bright and perfect for getting-ready photos. Below is the “old, new, borrowed, and blue”. This included a bridal bag made from Alicia’s wedding dress, new earrings from Caleb, a borrowed anklet, and blue “I Do” stickers for her shoes.

Can you believe Kaylei’s mom, Alicia, did her hair and makeup?? Just look at that, she did an incredible job! A family friend, Mandy, then helped out an did ALL the other girls hair! Great job girls!

If you know me at all, you know capturing happy tears is my favorite– well I got to do that a lot today. We had sweet moments with mom in the bridal suite, first look with bridesmaids and with dad, and lots tears at the ceremony. So much love.

Kaylei’s little sister, Blakely, the most beautiful flower girl ever!

I just couldn’t stop. Can you blame me??

This is THE tree that they carved their initials in so long ago!! How neat!!!

One of the coolest parts was the ceremony location– it is called the Nave, and looked like the front of an old church, with a bell that actually rang!

The Talley-Ho- a trailer pulled by a tractor with bench seats and a while picket fence all around. It brings people from the “big house” down to the ceremony and reception site.

This was the most gorgeous barn I have ever seen. The Jewell House seriously blew me away. Totally worth the 2 hour drive, AND Hamburg State Park is right there so you can camp!

Carolyn, of Cakes by Carolyn, blew us away with this replica of the special tree! Again, just perfect.

DJ Mix Master Chris P kept the party going with line dancing favorites! Of course he played Wobble, which is my favorite, and the one I cannot resist. You know I was out on that dance floor!

Bird seed send off!! Ugh, my heart. Love this couple so much.

I can’t tell you how happy I was this whole day, just to be with this awesome family, in this gorgeous place. I truly felt at home!!

Kaylei and Caleb, I wish you all the best always, and I hope to see you again soon! Thank you for trusting me with these memories!!
